I recently created a collaborative rug with a graduate
student Rachelle Edwards from Nottingham
Trent University .
Rachelle’s rug design required a deep carved pile to accentuate the primary
colours used within her geometric rug design. The designs were based on a “children’s
play” theme. The rug design had a basic geometric block theme which was
repeated to create the unusual shape of the rug. The initial dark blue lines
were tufted in a very short pile and trimmed and sculpted on the hand tufting
frame. The block primary colours were tufted in an even 30mm high pile. These
were then sculpted and carved back to create the 3D effect of the blocks.
Wonderful!. This article extremely amazed me from the pictures shown here. This is really nice to used this area rug as a design at home. I will show this article to my friends and I'm sure they will amazed also. Can you post more photos of area rugs? Thank you for sharing this.
